Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups butter — softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour — unsifted
3/4 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 teaspoon salt
1 cup nuts — finely chopped
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar in large mixer bowl. Add eggs and vanilla; blend well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. (Leave plenty of space between…they spread a lot.) Bake at 350F. for 8 to 9 minutes. (Do not overbake. Cookies will be soft. They will puff during baking, flatten upon cooling.) Cool on cookie sheet until set, about 1 minute; remove to wire rack to cool completely.
Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
