Bert’s Superb Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients:
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon mustard
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 lemon
1 onion — sliced
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup catsup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

In saucepan, mix vinegar, water, sugar, mustard, pepper, salt, cayenne, lemon, onion, butter. Simmer, uncovered, 20 min. Add catsup, Worcestershire; bring to boil.

NOTE: I usually make a large batch since it keeps for a long time in the refrigerator.
