Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

2/3 cup Crisco
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 orange rind — grated
1 tablespoon orange juice

Directions:

Cream Crisco, sugar and eggs together. Mix and sift flour, salt and baking powder and add to the first mixture. Add orange rind and juice and mix to a smooth dough. Chill. Roll out thin on slightly floured board and cut with cooky cutter. Sprinkle with sugar and bake in a moderate oven (325 degrees F.) 12 to 15 minutes. This recipe makes about 60 cookies.
